1) Take a balloon ride!

If your wedding is located somewhere like the countryside, with space to accommodate a hot air balloon, how about entering or leaving your wedding in a balloon like real love birds. This is a really creative idea that will surprise guests and be incredibly exciting for you.

2) Outdoor seating areas to welcome your guests

This is another great idea if your wedding is in the countryside, and especially if you’re having a drinks reception beforehand. You can create a luxurious outside seating area to indulge your guests, with colourful, stylish and comfortable armchairs and bergères that might resemble a hotel lobby.

3) Give out candies at the entrance!

If your guests are seated, this is a nice and simple idea to put into practice. You can create a cute, decorated table at the entrance, with bags of sweets for your guests. Each bag, either for individual guests or for families, can have written on it their allocated table number too.

4) What about welcome goody bags?

If you’re feeling particularly welcoming and generous, you might like this idea. The bride and groom’s name can be written on a stylish box, pouch or bag. When opened, the guest will receive instant gratification in the form of goodies and gifts!

5) Don’t forget about the kids!

There are plenty of great ideas to keep kids entertained at a wedding, especially if there’s lots of children expected. If your wedding location doesn’t have a park or playground, how about hiring some inflatables - a bouncy castle? You can also create a DIY crafts station filled with crayons and paper of every imaginable colour for them to use and have fun with.

6) Without you, our puzzle isn’t complete!

Instead of a traditional guest book, how about turning a photo of you and your future partner into a giant puzzle! You then ask all of your beloved guests to write their good wishes on the back of the pieces. And then of course the guests have to try to place the puzzle piece in the correct position. You can get an extra puzzle made so that you have back-up pieces in case any get lost on the night.

7) If you have a limited number of guests…

If you plan to have a simple ceremony with only your nearest and dearest, there are still some magical ideas to enchant your special guests. One of them is to prepare a colourful and intimate entrance by hanging up photographs of all of the guests. This can replace a more flat written list at a registration table.

We’ve already mentioned making a swift wedding getaway in a hot air balloon. But, if you want to keep your feet on the ground, how about creating a carnival atmosphere. We’re thinking dance troupes, costumes, colour, instruments - all of the ingredients for a traditional carnival.
